About Daniel Olivenca:
The basis of my training is mathematics and statistics and I have 10 years of experience in teaching these
subjects. During my PhD I have studied, with a systems biology approach, the phosphoinositide pathway
and the epithelium sodium channel in the context of cystic fibrosis, the most common lethal autosomic
genetic disease in the Caucasian population. A mathematical model of the phosphoinositide pathway was
produced and suggested an explanation how phospholipid kinase (diacylglycerol kinase) is able to
normalize the function of the epithelium sodium channel in cystic fibrosis.
